Police authorities in the US state of Arizona have confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with the sexual of female patient who is in a vegetative state.
The arrest comes after the woman who is in a vegetative state for the past 14 years gave birth to baby boy last month.
Police say a 36-year-old man who has been identified as Nathan Sutherland, was arrested in connection with the incident after his DNA samples matched those of the baby.
According to reports in the US Sutherland, faces charges of one count of sexual assault and one count of vulnerable adult abuse.
It is also reported Sutherland was a leading nurse who was responsible for providing care to the victim.
Police say the baby boy who is in good health has been taken into the care of the victims family.
