Police attacked yet again in UK as they tried to shut down an illegal rave

Police in the UK have once again been attacked by hundreds of rowdy partiers, this time after they attempted to shut down an illegal lockdown rave in Manchester.

The party was taking place outdoors under a gazebo in Gorton on Saturday and footage on social media showed a clear disregard for any kind of social distancing amongst the revellers present.

When police arrived and attempted to disperse the party in the early hours of Saturday morning, they were met with aggressive resistance from attendees who pelted them with bottles and other missiles.

In the UK only people from the same household are allowed to socialise together in pubs and at other functions under the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions and one of the women who helped organise the rave has been issued a £100 fine by police.

In recent weeks police in England have been met with violence, on a number of occasions in London, as well as elsewhere when attempting to shut down illegal raves and streets parties and with a second wave of the virus looking possible these incidents are piling pressure on the government to launch a more stringent and renewed lockdown.
