A professional footballer in the UK is in custody after being arrested on suspicion of assault and rape.
According to Sky News, 20-year-old Mason Greenwood, who plays for Manchester United, was affected after a video and images were posted on social media which alleged incidents of violence.
Greenwood is being questioned by police and Manchester United have released a statement, saying:
“We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media. We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”It is also said that the striker’s sponsors are monitoring the situation as it develops.
