In horrific news from New Zealand, police have said that the human remains found in suitcases bought in an online auction belong to two children.

According to the Metro, the suitcases were bought by a family in an online auction.  They had no involvement in the deaths of the children, who are estimated as being between 5 and 10 years old.

It is thought that the remains were probably hidden for between three and four years, a length of time which is likely going to make it difficult to gather evidence in the investigation.   Police are said to be devastated by the case.
