Police station burned as riots rock Belgian capital following death of suspect in custody




Brussels has been rocked by a night of violence, arson and rioting after a 23-year-old man died following his arrest by police.

On Wednesday, culturally enriched suburbs of the Belgian capital exploded into a warzone following the arrest and subsequent death of Ibrahima Barrie last weekend with one police station in the municipality of Schaerbeek being burnt out our rioters.

Barrie died of hearth failure following his arrest and detainment at police station at Place Liedts in Schaerbeek after fleeing from a coronavirus check point.

The rioting saw 116 people arrested several other injured.
