Political correct insanity: Animal rights group mocked for claiming the words “pig” and “chicken” portray humans as superior to animals and hurt their feelings

We know many of our readers are vegetarian, vegan and even weekday vegetarians but do you agree with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) statement that calling someone a pig or a chicken actually hurts animals by “normalising violence” against them and even perpetuates human superiority over animals? Could these words end up as hate speech against animals one day?

This week PETA tweeted a message that we all need to stop using animal names as insults. Calling someone a pig or chicken is no longer acceptable according to PETA. The group call these slurs “anti-animal” however many on social media were triggered, according to the Dailymail.

US Senator and Trump supporter replied to the PETA tweet as only Cruz can “This is bull$#&!” and others had a lot to say too. Take Michelle Ellman, Michelle replied “ You must be forgetting the time you (PETA) compared fat women to whales” and she included a PETA billboard advertisement as proof.
Another triggered tweeter messaged saying let’s replace PETA with TRASH and another messaged “I think the drive thru people will be confused if I try to order coward nuggets and fries”.

PETA doubled down and provided a list of alternative, non animal based insults suggesting we replace chicken with coward, rat with snitch, snake with jerk and pig with repulsive. They also stated “Using animals as insults perpetuates speciesism”.
