It is thought that thousands of English children have been groomed, gang-raped and trafficked into sexual slavery at the hands of Muslim gangs over the past decade.
Many of the gang members have themselves admitted to targeting the girls specifically because they were white and non-Muslim.
Judge Penny Moreland said that a Newcastle-based sex gang picked out their victims “not because of their race, but because they were young, impressionable, naive and vulnerable”.
However, after public outcry the Attorney General is set to review the finding of the judge, which would see the grooming gang members receive lighter sentences.
