The childhood movies we all loved to watch over Christmas have come under fire from the so-called “politically correct” of society. These individuals are obviously no longer content with modern day movies, they’ve taken in to attacking old classics.
So-called “experts” are actually claiming that ‘Beauty and the Beast’ promotes domestic violence and could incite hatred.
Last October, actress Keira Knightley said that she keeps her daughter from watching certain children’s movies such as Cinderella and The Little Mermaid due to potentially damaging things they could do to her self-worth, no – really she said this!
Dr. Victoria Cann, a lecturer in Humanities at the University of East Anglia said that ‘Snow White’ promotes female rivalry and jealousy, and Beauty and the Beast promotes domestic violence.
Incredibly she said that it’s a clinical case of Stockholm Syndrome, where the captive falls in love with their captor to ensure their survival. She then said that it shows if a woman persists long enough, she can change an angry partner.
