Pope Francis has called for an armed response to the atrocities against Christians in Iraq.
Recognising that the situation is going from bad to worse, the Pope said that there was a need for an appropriate response run by a “professional, well-equipped army”.
In asking the world to act and “stop these crimes”, the Pope is sending a clear message that the horrific crimes being perpetrated against Christians in Iraq will not be tolerated and the people in dire straits must be rescued by the rest of the world.
