Crews worked late into the night to restore power to households and businesses in some areas of Limerick.
An outage occurred just after 7.00pm yesterday evening, following a fault in the Southill substation. It is estimated that the fault affected about 2,000 homes and businesses across the south side of the city.
Residents stated that they heard a loud bang and saw a bright white light just before the power went out.
