Taylor, who turns 40 next month, has achieved virtually everything in the sport. An Olympic gold medallist from London 2012, she became a two-division undisputed world champion and has inspired generations of athletes, particularly young women in Ireland. Croke Park, with its capacity of over 82,000, last hosted professional boxing in 1972, making this event a rare and monumental occasion for the sport in the country.

Promoter Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing has scheduled a press conference at the venue on Friday to formally announce the details. French contender Flora Pili, an undefeated prospect, is widely reported as the likely opponent as Taylor seeks one last victory on home soil before retirement.

The homecoming represents the pinnacle of Taylor’s journey from Bray to global stardom. Fans across Ireland eagerly await what promises to be an unforgettable night of celebration for one of the nation’s greatest-ever sportspeople. Tickets are expected to sell out rapidly for this historic showdown.
