Prince Andrew is stripped of the title “His Royal Highness” and will now continue to defend himself in sex case civil as a private citizen

Prince Andrew’s problems have gotten worse as it has now been  reported that he will be stripped of the “His Royal Highness” title.

According to Sky News, his military titles and royal patronages have been returned to the Queen.  It is not clear whether he will still be allowed to call himself “Duke of York” but it is thought that this title will remain with him.

The move is seen as an attempt at damage limitation now that the Prince’s legal team has failed in its bid to have the civil sex case against him thrown out of court.

He will now have to face the allegations by Virginia Giuffre, who claims that he “committed sexual assault and battery” upon her when she was still a teenager after she was trafficked by the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

It is now thought that Andrew will not take part in any royal occasions for some time and that he will generally step back from the working aspects of the royal family.

He has steadfastly denied all charges and it has been confirmed that he will continue to defend himself as a private citizen
