The Chair of NPHET’s Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group, professor Phillip Nolan has said Ireland’s Reproductive number now currently stands between 0.6 and 0.9.
Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing,professor Nolan said that the country was making good progress even though its slow.
Nolan also said that vaccinations are showing positive signs as there is strong early evidence of that there is protection in the cohorts that have already been vaccinated.
Nolan’s comments come after a further 613 new Covid-19 cases and 35 further Covid-19 related deaths confirmed on Thursday.
