Professor Philip Nolan has warned that Ireland could see between 1,200 and 1,300 Covid-19 cases a day if the current trajectory doesn’t change.
In a plea asking for the public to redouble their efforts, professor Nolan said that case numbers are growing at a rate of 4% per day.
Although professor Nolan said this information is not intended to scare people, but if we redouble our efforts we can significantly change the course of the virus.
He added if the trajectory doesn’t change we could end up with 400 hospitalisations a day.
