PUP one-off payment to people who lost their jobs because of the pandemic is well received, says government

The end of the pandemic appears to be in sight, as the likes of Tony Holohan finally take a back seat. Along with that though, the government claims that one-off PUP payment will go down will the public.

It’s beginning to look like those on the PUP payments will be forced back to work whether they like it or not.

The Government has announced a special one-off payment for people on the Pandemic Unemployment Scheme (PUP) and those who lost their jobs because of the pandemic.

According to the Government, those people who ‘lost reckonable service while in receipt of the PUP or another jobseekers payment over the pandemic’ would be in line for the payment, worth up to €1,860.

The payment will be funded by the national Social Insurance Fund.
