Social media users are posting what they say are “genuine concerns” that a security incident could well happen Ireland’s largest St Patrick’s Day parade in Dublin city.
Thousands of people from around the world will attend the parade, with up to 10 people deep in certain areas along the O’Connell St stretch of the parade.
Garda units will participate in the parade and will be manning certain areas throughout the city.
However, that’s not everyone’s mind at rest with some social media users saying that they’d be afraid to go to the parade for fear of anti-social behaviour along with further major security threats.
Gardai say that there will be a helicopter in the air over the parade and gardai will be patrolling the area at all times to ensure safety.
