Recent study reveals men need a lads night to relieve stress

According to new research scientists at Germany’s University of Gottingen have proved that every man needs a good night on the town with the lads to let off some steam.

The boffins at one of Germany’s top institutions has discovered that a night of male bonding is more likely to lower his stress levels than a night out with his partner, or time spent with the family. The study also found that men suffer less anxiety when out in a group.

It is understood the theory was proven when scientists ran a controlled study on Barbary macaques, (a type of ape which exhibits remarkably human-like social behaviour). Scientists found that the male stress hormone significantly increased when male macaques were introduced to their partner or other family members. However when they placed amongst group of other males, they were found to much more relaxed.

The research also discovered stress-related illnesses only seemed to occur among females or couples. The study was carried out by Christopher Young of the university’s Primate Social Evolution Group who said: “”If male primates live in multimale groups they usually fight fiercely over access to females, but males can develop friendly relationships with a few group mates. “Male macaques form social bonds similar to human friendships that buffer them against day-to-day stressors.”

I pretty sure these new findings will be shared throughout homes by the lads this weekend. Although we are pretty sure the ladies will happy to get night to themselves too!
