It has been a record breaking year for Drogheda as official figures for this year’s Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann have been revealed.
Following on from a week of Irish song and dance in the Co Louth town, figures show that 700,000 visitors descended on the town.
According to Comhaltas boss, Dr. Labhrás Ó Murchú, figures for this year’s event were almost 50% higher than in 2018.
The record numbers are believed to have generated an estimated €40m for the local economy.
