Australia’s Rugby Team looks set to drop one of its star players after he quotes biblical scripture relating to homosexuality.
Israel Folau, a star rugby union player for the New South Wales Waratahs and devout Christian had been threatened by Rugby Australia, the governing body of the sport in the country, over a year ago for being so vocal about his faith.
The Christian sportsman posted a meme on Instagram on Wednesday which read “warning drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists, and idolaters that hell – awaits you.”
This provoked uproar online with keyboard PC activists demanding Folau publicly repent and atone for his politically incorrect beliefs or lose his career.
It is now very likely however, that the star player will end up fired despite having broken the all-time record for Super Rugby tries in early April.
Some commentators online have blithely commented that Folau should identify as Muslim and the PC fanatics would then “keep their mouths shut” no matter what he said about gays or anyone else.
