Refugee tripped by camerawoman offered a job

A Syrian refugee who made the news worldwide after he was filmed being tripped up by a camerawoman has been offered a job as a soccer coach in Madrid. The man was running from police in Hungary with his young son at the time.

The footage, which shows the man being tripped while holding a child in his arms gained the attention of a training school in Madrid. The camerawoman who was working for a TV channel in Hungary has since been fired.

Staff tracked down the man after discovering he had done a similar job in Syria. “We got the idea to help a fellow football coach,” Miguel Angel Galan, director of the school known as Cenafe told Cadenar Ser radio. The local administration will provide them with housing and are working on getting the rest of their family to Madrid.
