Up to 200 families currently residing in the Cruise Park estate in Tyrrellstown, Dublin, face becoming homeless in the near future after a so-called ‘vulture fund’ took over a loan secured on the properties by the developers.
Many of the families have lived in the estate for over 10 years, but now fear they may join the homeless list unless the government intervenes.
The planned mass eviction may come about after the estate’s developer, Twinlite, sold a loan secured on the properties to Goldman Sachs. Twinlite unsuccessfully attempted to obtain an injunction for the sale in the High Court.
All these families began receiving eviction notices over the last few weeks, and now face an uncertain future as the ‘vulture fund’ representatives move in to make a profit on their misery.
