A man in his 20s has died following a single-vehicle collision in Glanmire, Co Cork earlier this morning, reports RTE.
The crash occurred at approximately 6.50am on the M8 Southbound at Junction 18, Upper Riverstown.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead this afternoon, reports RTE.
The road is still closed as a forensic examination is carried out, and gardaí are asking any witnesses to come forward.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were in the area between 6.40am and 7.15am are being urged to share it with the investigating gardaí, reports RTE.
