Ross: New L-Driver laws not allowing them drive unaccompanied will save lives

Car owners who allow L-Drvers to use a vehicle unaccompanied will face fines or possibly even jail time from today onwards.

Irish people love their cars, but it appears that love isn’t shared by Minister for Transport Shane Ross.

Ross claims that somehow this law will help save lives – a vague analysis at best.

Car owners who fall foul of the new legislation may be fined up to €1,000, spend up to 6 months in jail, or have their vehicle seized.
