Social media users have reacted very negatively to what has been described as “extortionate wages” that RTE’s top stars were paid in 2016.
RTE have released their 2016 figures for salaries for their top earners and the figures are the price of a very nice house.
According to the Mirror, Ryan Tubridy tops the list on €495,000 with a breakdown of over €40,000 per month.
Ray D’Arcy is in second place after he picked up €450,000 after getting a €50,000 bonus, no less.
Joe Duffy takes those calls on a daily basis for a staggering €389,988 per year while Sean O’Rourke is on the radio for €308,964 – an increase of €18,000.
Miriam O’Callaghan can afford plenty of holidays when she’s off as she got a whopping €299,000!
Claire Byrne is in seventh place pulling in a lovely €216,000 in 2016 – an increase of €13,500.
