RTE say they will not play Michael Jackson’s music following the airing of Leaving Neverland documentary

RTÉ have confirmed that they will no longer play any Michael Jackson play lists as they feel the playing of his music might be insensitive to some listeners.

The broadcaster’s decision to drop Jackson’s music comes following the airing of the highly controversial Leaving Never Land documentary earlier this week.

According to The Irish Sun newspaper, RTÉ say they currently have no plans to play Jackson’s music at this present time as it may be seen as insensitive to play his music following the recent allegations made against the singer.

Jackson who died in June 2009, is facing further allegations of sexual abuse after the two men interviewed in the documentary claim that Jackson groomed and sexually abused them when they were young children.

The airing of the HBO documentary which concluded its airing on British broadcaster Channel 4 last night, has already seen a number of radio stations in the US and Canada ban Jackson’s music following the allegations.
