Israel Folau, one of Australia’s most talented rugby players who was fired for expressing Christian beliefs on social media, may be entitled to unlimited compensation from sponsors as the courts are likely to find they breached his workplace rights.

Rugby Australia’s move to destroy the career of record-breaking player Israel Folau led to the organisation facing a rebellion from all of its Polynesian players.

The firestorm came after Folau posted a message on his Instagram which read “warning drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists, and idolaters that hell – awaits you.”

This provoked uproar online with keyboard PC activists demanding Folau publicly repent and atone for his politically incorrect beliefs or lose his career.

Rugby Australia quickly moved to end the career of the unapologetic Christian and now the former Wallabies and Waratahs star is seeking $10 million in compensation after his $4 million contract was cancelled.

Also sponsors, including Qantas airlines, who dumped Folau now face having to hand over at least $50,000 to the legendary sportsman.

Meanwhile, online commentators have suggested that Folau simply state that he is Muslim, then no media outlet, online social justice warriors, sponsors or Rugby Australia would dare speak out against him no matter what he said.
