The sale of menthol cigarettes will no longer be permitted in Ireland from today.

According to the Minister for Health Simon Harris, “the purpose of the ban is to ensure that cigarette and tobacco products for sale can no longer include ingredients that would make smoking more palatable.

Covid-19 has once again highlighted the harmful effects of smoking, as those who smoke are far more likely to develop serious symptoms of the disease.
