SCAM ALERT: HSE warns public that scammers are calling people pretending to check if their HSE records are secure after the cyber attack and requesting bank details

The HSE has warned the public to be vigilant after scammers have taken advantage of the cyber attack on the HSE and the Department of Health.

The Health Service Executive said that people are being phoned by scammers pretending that they’re from the HSE to check if the person’s medical history had been compromised from the cyber attack or not.

They’re asking for people’s date of birth, their address, their bank account details and credit card numbers.

People are asked not to take these calls and to hang up. The HSE will never ring people asking for these details.

People are asked to share this information on social media with their family and friends, especially their elderly family, friends and neighbours.
