“They got me through lockdown” – Andrew McGinley thanks the Irish public for sending him letters during lockdown

Thursday night’s PrimeTime was very difficult to watch as Miriam O’Callaghan interviewed Andrew McGinley after his wife Deirdre Morley was found not guilty of murdering their three children by reason of insanity.

The heartbreaking interview saw Andrew McGinley pay individual tributes to his wonderful children.

Andrew thanked the Irish public for all the lovely letters that they sent him during lockdown. He said that he wouldn’t have been able to get through it without them.

He also thanked the company he works with, his family, neighbours and friends.

Andrew said that 9-yr-old Conor, 7-yr-old Darragh and 3-yr-old Carla were “wonderful kids” who loved Lego, books, snow, football, playing and loving life.

His wife, Deirdre Morley murdered their three children in January 2020.

Andrew McGinley has created a YouTube Channel called “Conor’s Clips” in their memory, along with becoming a football coach to help his community.

He also started a charity called “Conor’s Clips” with the hopes of raising a prize for an annual event.

The brave man said that he goes through different emotions but that he has to try control his emotions and do his best. He said that he can never disassociate Deirdre from his children’s deaths.

On Thursday, Deirdre Morley was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity.
