A school in Co Kerry looks set to be closed following a large outbreak of Covid-19.
It is understood that all students and staff at Scoil Mhuire Killorglin, will be tested for Covid-19 after 17 students have already tested positive for the virus.
The news comes after parents of children at the school were sent a letter calling on them to keep their child at home until December 30th.
In the letter issued by the Department of Public Health, parents were told: “In the Irish experience with Covid-19 thus far, it has been uncommon to see an outbreak of this scale among a school population.”
It is believed that contact tracing will also be carried out and parents have been advised not to let their child leave home until December 30th.
