There was no shock in Murrayfield this afternoon despite a spirited late rally by Italy as won their opening Six Nations encounter.
In a match the Scots were expected to win, they did so with relative ease as they ran out 33-20 victors.
Scotland who will be hoping for a good campaign following a positive display in the Autumn International Series, secured a bonus point victory over an Ill-disciplined Italian side.
Italy however will be left looking back and will wonder if their display in the final ten minutes should have come earlier as scored an impressive 3 tries with Scotland with a man in the sin bin.
The result will be a boost for the Scots ahead of next weekend’s encounter with Ireland at Murrayfield.
