
The hunt for a kayaker who went missing off the coast of Donegal has returned, reports RTE.
At around 5 p.m. on Thursday, a man in his 50s went missing from Machaire Gathlán pier in Gaoth Dobhair, raising the alarm.
Yesterday, a kayak was discovered around 5 kilometres north of Toraigh, reports RTE.
Locals saw the may, who they assume is from Donegal, at approximately 7 p.m. on Thursday between the shore and Inis Meáin island. The alarm was set off when he failed to return to the dock.
Sligo’s R118 Coast Guard helicopter was dispatched to the scene. The local An Bun Beag squad was involved, as well as the Árainn Mhór lifeboat, reports RTE.
