The search for Gavin ‘Care Bear’ Carey, a 28-year-old soldier stationed in Athlone, enters its fifth day today.
Mr. Carey got into difficulty while swimming off Tullan Strand, near Bundoran, on Tuesday evening. Two other members of the Defence Forces swimming alongside him managed to reach safety.
Gardaí, rescue helicopters, a lifeboat, and the Naval Service dive team are participating in the search.
