
The search for a missing lady in Galway Bay has recommenced this morning.
The Coast Guard Service, Civil Defence teams, and the RNLI are all involved in the multi-agency effort, which is headed by the GardaÃ, reports RTE.
Tomorrow marks the sixth day of the hunt for the missing woman at sea in Galway Bay.
Shortly after composer Johnny Duhan went missing at sea on Tuesday, Máire Nà Fhátharta was reported missing from Silverstrand beach. Hours later, his body was pulled from the river.
Other search and rescue teams from throughout the nation have also joined the hunt for Ms. Nà Fhátharta, reports RTE.
Hundreds of residents from the Galway and south Conemara regions have also participated in daily shoreline searches, as have kayak groups, paddle boarders, and local boat owners.
All individuals who have volunteered to participate in the search have received heartfelt appreciation from the missing woman’s family.
They claim that the kindness and encouragement they have received have given them a strong feeling of community, reports RTE.
The expenses of petrol and search gear have been partially covered by an online campaign.
The money, which was organised by Ms. Nà Fhátharta’s family, will be given to nonprofits that are supporting the healing process.
After his funeral mass at St. Killian’s Church in New Inn, County Galway, Mr. Duhan was buried this afternoon, reports RTE.
Several objects that symbolised his life and loves were brought to the altar at the beginning of the ritual. They featured a family portrait of “his crew,” Mr. Duhan’s song journal, his guitar, and a prayer book that represented his “strong, unwavering faith.”
The 74-year-old singer had a “precious and deep way” of enhancing the lives of many people, including his family, according to Fr. Michael Brennan’s homily, reports RTE.
