A second fisherman has has died following the Killybegs incident on Monday afternoon.
The 46 year old man from the Philippines was pronounced dead around 9.30am this morning in Letterkenny General Hospital.
The man became ill after attempting to save his colleague, James Joyce, on “Oileán an Óir” after the ship had been overcome with fumes. They had been cleaning a tank in a refrigeration unit when the incident occurred.
Mr. Joyce, originally from Inis Mór, died on Tuesday and his funeral took place on the Aran Islands today.
