Severe flooding has already been reported in the Shannon area, and with the worst yet to come, the financial toll taken by the accumulated effect of the three major storms over the last few weeks will reach unseen levels.
A Status Orange wind warning has been put in place for much of tomorrow for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry while a further yellow wind warning has been issued for much of the rest of the country.
The Irish Coastguard has issued a warning of its own, advising citizens to stay away from coastal areas for the next 36 hours as rough sea conditions will create dangerous waves and tides.
