Severe weather warning – Met Eireann say Ireland is in for an Arctic blast of snow this week

From tomorrow, Met Eireann say we’re in for yet another blast of severely cold weather.

The so-called Arctic blast of air is said to hit the West of North of the country worse – with temperatures set to drop to below zero, particularly from evening time on Monday and Tuesday.

The arctic blast of air will make the temperatures have a “real feel” of much colder than they actually are – so people are advised to dress appropriately and not to let the celcius in the car deceive them.

Wintry showers of snow and sleet are expected over the 48-hour period, especially on high lying ground. Motorists are advised to take extra care on the roads until the cold spell passes.
