A British woman who met an African migrant living in Italy on online and traveled to meet him has escaped after two weeks of hell after the man and his friends kidnapped her and raped her repeatedly.
The 39-year-old British woman travelled to meet Mamadou Jallow a migrant from Burkina Faso, who she befriended over Facebook. When the woman arrived in Rosarno, in southern Italy the man held the woman against her will and took her phone, cutting her off from the world in a secluded house.
The man along with two other African migrants raped the woman repeatedly while Jallow also plundered her bank account.
The woman managed to get hold of her phone and contact her family, who then contacted the police. The Italian police managed to trace her number and convinced her to flee.
Jallow has been arrested and charged with a variety of crimes, including kidnapping, enslavement and sexual assault among others.
Italy has endured a massive rise in violent and sexual crimes that has been attributed to the massive number of African migrants crossing the Mediterranean to reach the country.
African gangs now openly deal drugs and engage in violent, anti-social behaviour on the streets of most large Italian cities.
