It’s difficult to see how this happened, but a major investigation is underway into a crash between a tour bus and a Laus tram at Dublin’s Smithfield which occurred at 11:30am.
Eight people are injured as a result, six with minor injuries but two with severe injuries said to be “spinal related”. All were taken to hospital, but the last two remain in serious condition as a result.

Eyewitness, Gregory Andrews told The Liberal:
“I’m actually only here for a business meeting this evening. I went down to our Irish office in Smithfield, and just as I got out of the taxi I heard this awful screeching noise. It seemed like the Luas continued even after the collision”.
