Sickening: Homeless gentleman recovering following major surgery after be struck by industrial vehicle at Grand Canal

Last year, there were 222 deaths of homeless people, as new figures show.

Statistics published by the Dublin Homeless Regional Executive appear after a homeless African-native was treated in a hospital tragically for life-changing injuries.

The man is aged in his thirties, originally from Eritrea, was reportedly paralysed after heavy machinery was used to remove his tent from the banks of the Grand Canal in Dublin on Tuesday.

He slept inside a tent during while cleaning Dublin City Hall and Waterways Ireland and got tragically severely injured to his leg from the incident.

The next day, a homeless woman in her 20s suddenly died in an emergency shelter. Her body was reportedly found at the Phoenix Lodge Inn on Parkgate Street in the capital.
