Signal boost: Government approve plan to place signal repeaters in rural areas

There could be good news for homeowners in rural areas in the near future after the Government agreed to a proposal that will allow signal repeaters to be placed in their homes in order to boost mobile phone signals.

The move which will most likely boost signals in remote areas is being drafted in as part of 40 actions included in a Government plan aimed at improving mobile and broadband coverage.

It is also understood that a dedicated Broadband Officer would also be given a position in local authority areas which would help streamline the upgrading of internet access.
