Sinn Féin have outlined proposals that would see parents getting a back to school allowance of €140 each year.
According to RTÉ News, the party have published a proposals that would require schools to provide generic uniforms.
The proposals which have been submitted by the parties education spokesperson Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire and social protection spokesperson John Brady, also outline plans to introduce a scheme that would make school available to all children for free.
The party who say they will look to eliminate voluntary contributions by introducing a capitation grants scheme to schools that will see funding being distributed to schools in the annual Budget.
Although the party’s proposals have yet to be approved in the Dáil, it is thought that the Government are open to discussing proposals that would see the costs of sending being reduced.
