Sinn Fein has reportedly written to Garda Commissioner Drew Harris to ask him to outline the facilities that will be offered to homeless families told to Garda stations as a last resort.
It is understood that at least one family in Dublin has already been recommended to report to the nearest Garda station to seek shelter.
The upcoming lifting of the eviction ban is likely to result in a deluge of homelessness, which will pile on top of the already record high level of people without a home across Ireland.
