Sinn Fein’s Mary Lou Mcdonald’s has been nominated for Taoiseach in the Dail by a number of TDs, not just from Sinn Fein.
It looks highly unlikely that she will be Taoiseach though, as at most, she’ll receive some 45 nominations, far short of the 80 she needs to secure the position.
Also nominated were Fianna Fail’s Micheal Martin, the Green Party’s Eamon Ryan and Fine Gael’s Leo Varadkar.
