Sligo Boston Barber shuts downs after barber picks up brother allegedly returning from Iraq with coronavirus

A Sligo barber has been forced to close his doors just after reopening following lockdown allegedly because he picked up his brother from the airport after he returned from Iraq and tested positive for coronavirus.

There’s been a mixed reaction on social media to the shop’s temporary closure but the barber moved to reassure people that he put no one at risk and would never put anyone at risk, including his pregnant wife.

He said that he has closed the shop as a precaution due to his brother testing positive for covid-19 in the Sligo test centre. He never mentioned Iraq but locals were adamant the barber’s brother travelled back from Belfast to Sligo on a public bus.

In all fairness to the barber, he did his best to stop the false rumour by clarifying that he himself picked his brother up from Dublin Airport and that was the reason he had decided to temporarily shut his doors for the time being.

The barber stated that for the safety of his staff and his customers, the shop would remain closed for the time being. His loyal customers supported the barber on the Facebook post with many people wishing him the best with his reopening.
