Social welfare bonus: These are the payments that will be increased this year for recipients

Prior to the release of the Budget 2025, it is anticipated that beneficiaries of two social assistance payments would receive financial increases this year, reports The Mirror.

The government is putting plans in place, even though they aren’t likely to be published until the autumn. We can report on who may anticipate having their payments boosted.

The state pension recipient will receive an additional €12 a week, while the child benefit eligible will receive a €10 monthly payment increase.

Tánaiste Mícheál Martin said that these improvements are important measures to safeguard future generations, highlighting the significant expenditures slated to address climate change and control healthcare expenses, reports The Mirror.

Claims that these adjustments were an attempt to “throw money at voters” before of the general election were refuted by the leader of Fianna Fáil.

This coincides with a significant reform to Child Benefit that is scheduled to take effect next month and expand the programme to cover children with disabilities or those enrolled full-time in school up to the age of 18.

From the first of May 2024 to the month their kid turns eighteen, parents will not be eligible to participate in the system, reports The Mirror.
