Special needs schools to reopen later this month following an agreement




The Department of Education have confirmed that special needs schools will reopen on a phased basis later this month.

In an announcement the Department of Education confirmed that special schools will reopen on February 11th, whilst and classes for those with special needs in mainstream schools will begin on February 22nd.

Under the agreement it is believed that classes will operate at 50% capacity on alternate days.

Announcing the decision the Department of Education had confirmed that an agreement with the INTO and Forsa had been reached.

It is believed that both unions are happy that classes can be resumed after clear advice was provided from public health officials.
