St James’s Hospital in Dublin has placed a further restriction for people intending on visting the hospital this week due to a flu outbreak.
Management at the hospital are asking that friends and family of patients to defer from all non-essential visits. They also say that no children will be admitted and only one visitor is allowed at a time. It is understood that certain wards within the hospital may need to be closed to all except specially approved compassionate visiting.
However the Emergency Department will remain open, although management are asking people with flu-like symptoms to attend their GP in the first instance.
