There is a treat in store for stargazers later this month as a rare phenomenon known as the Christmas star will occur later this month.

In an event that has not been seen in nearly 800 years, astronomers and stargazers alike will get to see a rare moment as Jupiter and Saturn will align to create a Christmas star.

The event which is believed to have last occurred 1623 will create what is a bright point in the earth’s sky on December 21st.

Astronomers eagerly awaiting the event called the Great Conjunction say all eyes will be on the sky as the next such alignment is not expected until 2080.
