Status Yellow rain warning extended as Met Eireann issues flooding risk alert

In response to a warning of possible flooding in southern regions, Met Éireann has extended a Status Yellow rain warning for two counties, reports Independent.

Cork and Kerry counties will be under a status yellow rain warning until at least 9am on Wednesday.

High tides, onshore winds, and periods of intense rain are expected to persist throughout Wednesday morning in the two counties, according to the national forecaster.

Additionally, there’s a chance of isolated floods and waves overtopping.

The majority of the nation will have gloomy conditions today, with mist and isolated areas of light rain or drizzle, reports Independent.
